The Alex Hleb Saga
Yesterday I said Hleb wants out. He had this wonderful Italian ice cream on the night before our Champions League game against AC Milan. He liked it so much that he wants out. His agent said:
“Alexander is preparing to make the most important moves of his life. He is leaving Arsenal even though they want to offer him a new long-term contract and better conditions.”Only time will tell if leaving is the right decision, but there’s no way back now. Everything will be cleared up in the next two weeks.”
The way he said ‘but there’s no way back now’…it sounded as if a deal has already been signed between Inter Milan and Hleb. The Boss came out and said Hleb is still part of his plans. Ball in agent’s court. Agent says will buy out contract using Webster’s clause. Ball in Boss’s court. Boss says Webster clause isn’t that simple and a player could face ban if the process is not followed correctly. Agent’s balls goes missing and he comes up with this statement:
“In any case I can say simply that Alexander will not buy out the remaining part of his five-year contract for a fixed sum of his sale. Hleb is a gentleman and will not stoop to that level. Everything will be done properly.“I am sure that the situation surrounding this issue will finally be resolved in the next 10 days.”
Funny he says his client is a gentleman. What gentleman meets officials of a different club the night before a Champions League quarter final? What gentleman keeps shut when the fans want to know if he is staying with the club? Oh and yes, somebody should hit Hleb’s agent on the head with something. I mean, who the f*ck comes up with one lame statement after another, unless ofcourse he is a daft pr*ck and deserves to be hit on the head? First it was, “we went to eat ice cream”, now this:
“There are no problems with regard to his playing opportunities. Alexander is just tired of the noisy and chaotic life in the British capital and feels like living in calmer surroundings.”
What!!!
There is more to come. This story is not over yet. I’m sure we will hear more in days to come.
In other news, Mad Jens could end up playing for Stuttgart. He is out of contract and Stuttgart have reportedly approached him. Meanwhile, the Boss said that it would be ‘criminal’ if the current bunch don’t build on the just concluded season.
“I think the big core of the team is ready to come back and fight. I think all of them are determined to come back and win.”
That is what we want to hear. This team has enough in it to challenge for the trophies. All that is needed is a little bit of experience, which they have gained aplenty this season, and some luck. We will come back much stronger and determined.
That’s it for now. I will be back with more tomorrow.
[...] he will consider a move if a ‘big’ club comes calling. He will be a god addition as Hleb looks set to depart. There are also reports that we are tracking Diego. Spanish media is going crazy with reports that [...]
