Manchester Shitty, Cescy Arsenal

Posted in Arsenal by Our Correspondent on September 7, 2008

Another boring day with nothing much to do. It is international football time and I am not really bothered. England laboured to a win and France lost to Austria (of all teams). I am going to keep this one real short. After City’s new owners announced their ambitious plan of signing all the top players like Torres, Kaka, Ronaldo and our very own Fabregas, Cesc has come out with a statement saying that he is not interested. He said:

“It would be suicidal for my career at my 21 years of age to move to City. It would make no sense.”

This is a sign of a level headed player who knows what is right for his career. Time and again he has said that one-day he would like to play in Spain, but he wouldn’t leave the club just yet. Young players with a mature head, like Cesc, are a rare commodity these days. Are you listening Robson de Souza?

UPDATE : I came across a very nice article by Simon Johnson where he compares Arsenal to the other clubs that have been taken over my money minting billionaires. Have a read.

Fabregas’ statement was absolutely true. At the age of 21, he does not need to go anywhere. After all, he is playing for Arsenal, widely considered as one of the clubs of the world.

Thank you for your comment Deepak. I’m sure you meant ‘ considered as one of the BEST clubs of the world.’ Coming back to the topic, you are absolutely right. Cesc has been with us since he was a 16-year-old. He has grown up here and he wouldn’t leave us to play for any other club in England. He is one of the best players in the world, but he is still developing. Imagine a 26 year old Fabregas bossing the play as he does now! He has always made it clear that there are two clubs for him, Arsenal and Barcelona. So, I believe the money minting machines of Citeh should stay away from him.
